Get a Zapier zap failed alert when a Zap breaks or stops

A Zapier zap failed alert only helps if it covers every way a Zap breaks. A Zap can stop without a sound. The trigger app changes, a connection expires, or the Zap gets turned off, and nothing runs. Zapier's own error emails only cover runs that start and then fail. A Zap that never runs sends nothing.

Agent Monitor from Radar My Business adds one webhook step to your Zap. Each time the Zap finishes, it pings us. If a failure ping comes in, or the expected run doesn't show up, you get one email.

What you get

  • A success ping URL and a failure ping URL for each Zap. GET and POST both work.
  • An expected run interval and a grace period that you set, so a late run isn't flagged too early.
  • Working, running late or stopped shown next to the time of the last check-in. Paused monitors show as Paused.
  • One email alert when a run is missed or a failure ping arrives. No repeat emails during the same outage.
  • One recovery email when the next success ping comes in.
  • Ping-only. Setup is one Webhooks by Zapier step. We don't connect to your account or read its history.

How to set up a Zapier zap failed alert

  1. Step 01

Add a monitor. In Radar My Business, open Agent Monitor, choose Zapier, and set how often the Zap should run plus a grace period.

  2. Step 02

Copy your two links. You get a success ping URL and a failure ping URL.

  3. Step 03

Add a success step at the end of your Zap. Add a Webhooks by Zapier action, choose POST:

    • URL: your success ping URL (https://radarmybusiness.com/api/agent-monitor/ping/<your-token>)
  4. Step 04

Add a failure path (optional). On any path that handles a failure, add another Webhooks by Zapier POST:

    • URL: your failure ping URL (https://radarmybusiness.com/api/agent-monitor/ping/<your-token>/fail)
  5. Step 05

Test the step. The monitor shows Working with the time of the last check-in.

Optional: send the item count and a response snippet

A run that finishes with nothing to show is caught too. If the success ping reports count 0, or its message or snippet contains words like unauthorized, forbidden, invalid token, expired, rate limit or error, the monitor goes down and you get one email. In the success Webhooks by Zapier POST, set Payload Type to JSON and add two Data fields from an earlier step:

count = number of items found
snippet = response text from the API step

A GET ping can use the query string instead, for example …/ping/<your-token>?count=0. The next clean success ping sends one recovery email. You can also set your own minimum item count and extra words on the monitor.

Catching a Zap that quietly stopped

The success ping is the key. If it doesn't arrive inside your interval and grace period, the run counts as missed and you get an email. Failure pings alert right away. Missed runs are checked once a day at 14:10 UTC (7:10 AM Pacific), so this is a daily safety net, not a minute-by-minute pager.

FAQ

How do I get alerted when a Zap fails?

Add a Webhooks by Zapier POST step to your failure path that calls your Agent Monitor failure ping URL. When it arrives, you get an email right away.

How do I know if a Zap stopped running?

Add a Webhooks by Zapier POST step at the end of the Zap that calls your success ping URL, and set an expected run interval and grace period. If no ping arrives in that window, the monitor is marked running late, then stopped, and you get one email. Missed runs are checked once a day at 14:10 UTC (7:10 AM Pacific).

Is there a Radar My Business app in the Zapier directory?

No. Setup uses the built-in Webhooks by Zapier step and your ping links. There's no app to install.

Does Agent Monitor read my Zap history?

No. Zapier monitoring is ping-only. We only see the pings your Zap sends.

Where do alerts go?

Email. You get one email when something goes wrong and one when it recovers. Email is the only alert channel right now.
