Get a Make scenario error notification, even for missed runs

A Make scenario error notification only fires if the scenario runs. A Make scenario can stop doing its job without anyone noticing. A connection expires, the scenario gets deactivated, or a schedule changes, and the work just stops. A scenario that never runs can't raise an error.

Agent Monitor from Radar My Business adds an HTTP module to your scenario. Each time it finishes, it pings us. If your error handler sends a failure ping, or the expected run doesn't show up, you get one email.

What you get

  • A success ping URL and a failure ping URL for each scenario. GET and POST both work.
  • An expected run interval and a grace period that you set, so a late run isn't flagged too early.
  • Working, running late or stopped shown next to the time of the last check-in. Paused monitors show as Paused.
  • One email alert when a run is missed or a failure ping arrives. No repeat emails during the same outage.
  • One recovery email when the next success ping comes in.
  • Ping-only. Setup is one HTTP module plus an error handler call. We don't connect to your account or read its history.

How to set up a Make scenario error notification

  1. Step 01

Add a monitor. In Radar My Business, open Agent Monitor, choose Make, and set how often the scenario should run plus a grace period.

  2. Step 02

Copy your two links. You get a success ping URL and a failure ping URL.

  3. Step 03

Add a success ping at the end of your scenario. Add HTTP — Make a request:

    • URL: your success ping URL (https://radarmybusiness.com/api/agent-monitor/ping/<your-token>)
    • Method: POST
  4. Step 04

Add a failure ping to the error handler. On the error handler route, call:

    • URL: your failure ping URL (https://radarmybusiness.com/api/agent-monitor/ping/<your-token>/fail)
  5. Step 05

Run the scenario once. The monitor shows Working with the time of the last check-in.

Optional: send the item count and a response snippet

A run that finishes with nothing to show is caught too. If the success ping reports count 0, or its message or snippet contains words like unauthorized, forbidden, invalid token, expired, rate limit or error, the monitor goes down and you get one email. In the success HTTP module, add two Query String items. Map count to the number of bundles or array items, and snippet to the response text you want checked:

count   = {{length(<array from an earlier module>)}}
snippet = {{substring(<response text>; 0; 500)}}

A GET ping can use the query string instead, for example …/ping/<your-token>?count=0. The next clean success ping sends one recovery email. You can also set your own minimum item count and extra words on the monitor.

Errors and missed runs, both covered

Failure pings from your error handler alert right away. If the success ping doesn't arrive inside your interval and grace period, the run counts as missed. Missed runs are checked once a day at 14:10 UTC (7:10 AM Pacific), so this is a daily safety net, not a minute-by-minute pager.

FAQ

How do I get notified when a Make scenario errors?

Add an error handler route that calls your Agent Monitor failure ping URL. When it arrives, you get an email right away.

Will I know if a scenario stops running?

Yes. Add an HTTP module at the end that calls your success ping URL, and set an expected run interval and grace period. If no ping arrives in that window, the monitor is marked running late, then stopped, and you get one email. Missed runs are checked once a day at 14:10 UTC (7:10 AM Pacific).

Do I need a custom Make app?

No. Setup uses Make's built-in HTTP — Make a request module. There's no app to install.

Does Agent Monitor read my Make scenario history?

No. Make monitoring is ping-only. We only see the pings your scenario sends.

Where do alerts go?

Email. You get one email when something goes wrong and one when it recovers. Email is the only alert channel right now.

What does it cost?

Agent Monitor is included in every Radar My Business plan: Starter ($29/month, 5 monitors), Pro ($79/month, 25 monitors) and Agency ($199/month, 100 monitors), or $279, $759 or $1,909 a year. The 7-day free trial is on monthly Starter, with no card. Pro and Agency are paid plans.
